When life was stressed with the new norm of work from home, I was affected by work life imbalance, physical & mental stress, and excessive eating habits. I asked myself – Where am I heading? Am I healthy? What am I doing to be healthy? Is it the life I need?
My wife and I knew Vidhya as our neighbor and decided to consult her and take her guidance to achieve our goals to improve health.
Though I had apprehensions of typical diet chart (more like set menu) by dieticians, I was amused by the methodology of Vidhya. It was not a menu card but a comprehensive list of ingredients to be used which gave us the flexibility of cooking any dish of our choice with those ingredients. I did not have restriction of drinking alcoholic beverages, just that I had to balance other carbohydrate intakes.
First week I had few challenges to cope up like weighing every ingredient before cooking, planning menu for the week, controlling sweet cravings, etc. Within few days I was able to easily adapt to her plans. The journey became more interesting when results started coming towards close of second week. There were weekly updates provided to Vidhya and accordingly she revised & devised the plan by accommodating most of the preferred food options.
I feel amused to achieve the set goals of healthy living. I learned that commitment and dedication are instrumental to keep the journey exciting. While nutrition is important, physical activities including work outs are equally important to keep the pace to achieve the set goals.
